A little background on the pasty:

The pasty became popular with Cornish miners because it could be eaten as a whole meal without using cutlery. The pastry shell not only held the pasty ingredients, but also kept them hot for several hours.

LITTLE GIRLS WITH COOKIES AND BIG HEARTS

When I was in Hampstead, I walked by a bake sale outside a house and found these two little girls selling baked goods and their toys to raise money for the Japanese Tsunami and to save the Sumatran Tiger. For such cute little girls (and such wonderful causes!), I could not refuse. I picked up some home-baked, heart-shaped honey shortbread biscuits. They were really yummy! I wish they did well and accomplished their goal. If this message ever reaches them: continue to live life with big, open hearts, and beautiful smiles - girls like you help make the world go round!

*And they made friends with Melissa and Mandy!
